Welcome to Wrestling Outside The Box
What better way to kick off this segment, than with the release of Jeff Hardy.
What boggles my mind here is Jeff Hardy was right in the middle of a career resurgence. He went from that terrible booking on Raw with Karrion Kross (We'll get to him and a few others another week), to getting booked in the high mid-card and even main event. Jeff was looking prime to be Roman Reigns next challenger after Brock Lesnar and while he may not have been successful, just pushing for that main event spot was really bringing out the best in Jeff, which also kept the fans happy.

In the middle of a house show in Corpus Christi, TX, Jeff Hardy tags out, rolls out of the ring, hops the barrier and walks into the crowd. Its revealed WWE sent him home for the rest of the tour and replaced him with Rey Mysterio. It's then revealed a couple days later that Jeff Hardy has been released from his WWE contract effective immediately. The reasoning behind this is WWE offered Jeff Hardy rehabilitation, and he declined.
The thing that everyone is talking about is the fact Jeff knew if he declined the rehab, WWE would then take action, so was it all a ploy to get released and join Matt in AEW? My answer would be no. Like I said earlier, Jeff was in a prime spot, the height of his run since his return in 2017.
I just hope that Jeff is safe, happy and most importantly healthy. If he wants to go to AEW, I see him and Matt tagging in one final run, and them retiring together. A real full circle kind of moment.
